Hello rebels,
The recent Adani approvals have been heartbreaking for many, yet it is only one in a series of many decisions that threaten our existence. Our governments continue to ignore climate scientists, traditional owners and public sentiment on climate and ecological action.
Recent actions by XR overseas, such as the 14 day rebellion in London, have forced international governments to face up to the truth and take action. Many institutions, such as British, UK and New Zealand Parliaments have now declared climate emergencies.
It’s now time for Australians to take action that can’t be ignored, mass non-violent civil disobedience and direct action (NVDA).

Participate in Actions
We encourage you to come out and get involved in our actions. Many actions run by Extinction Rebellion will involve nonviolent direct action (NVDA). To be prepare for them, we need activists to complete Conscientious Protector training. After completing this training you can join or form an affinity group.
Affinity Groups are small groups who organise and take direct action together. As we are grow, they will be the most effective way for us to disrupt and draw attention to our demands.
Affinity groups have a long history. They’ve proven to be effective at enhancing activist support, sustainability and safety. At their core, they’re small groups of people who trust each other. and have similar views on their preferred types and levels of actions.
In XRSA, the Actions and Arts Working group are working out an overarching strategy. Each Affinity group has relative autonomy to work on their actions in support of the strategy while maintaining the values of XR.
